"Ce magnifique album est
explicitement dédié à la Freedom now suite de Max Roach et à Old and
new dreams ...Choix
on ne peut plus stimulant. Deux soufflants et une batterie : trio sans
contrebasse. Formule rare. La grâce funambulesque et la magnificence du
jeu de batterie de Bruno Tocanne, subtil et prodigue, fait que l'on ne
s'inquiète à aucun moment de l'absence de contrebasse. Ce trio est
l'un des multiples rhizomes du foisonnant "réseau imuZZic". Leur
musique ne s'interdit rien : ni les mélodies les plus émouvantes, ni
les
rythmes formels, pas plus que les débordements les plus radicaux.
Compositions originales majoritaires, un thème de Dewey Redman
(logique dans le cadre du projet) et... "Secret Marriage " de Sting !
Comme tous les libertaires conséquents et enracinés, ces trois
improvisateurs savent rendre hommage de manière lumineuse et captivante
à l'histoire et au présent des musiques qu'ils aiment et pratiquent au
plus haut niveau. Thèmes et improvisations sont à la fois denses et
légers, précis et flottants, gais et profonds. La radicalité des propos
ne nuit jamais à leur musicalité. Sensible et intense. Jubilatoire.
