A musician's collective ? an artist's network ? a variable musical company ?
Jazz and improvised musics have an
opening equal to the spirit of freedom which this artistic field
claims, we find in the imuZZic objectives, since its creation in 2000,
the echos of this characteristic: meetings between confirmed artists and
emergent artists, meetings between various musical styles, meetings between
different artistic disciplines (Visual arts, multimedia, poetry), human meetings
…
A fast review of the last years
prove the creative vitality of this musician's network, the successful bet
of the curiosity and the support of the public in an artistic comment without
concession, the capacity of the collective to articulate local anchoring,
national and international brilliance.
SINCE 2000 More than 50 artists have paticipated to the imuZZic projects, among John Greaves, Hasse Poulsen, Denis Badault, Louis Sclavis, Bruno Tocanne, Quinsin Nachoff, Michael Bates, Russ Johnson, Rémi Gaudillat, Lionel Martin, Philippe Gordiani, Damien Sabatier, Fred Roudet, Fred Meyer, Samuel Blaser... 6 creations were born: "round about 68", "October", "The man with a movie camera", "Panics", "The mad Shepherds of the rebellion"... 7 albums among which 5 were coproduced by Cristal Records: "5 new dreams", "I.Overdrive trio", "Global Songs"; "Etats d'urgence"; "new dreams nOw ! "... The various projects were presented in France and all around the world (Canada, Morocco, Greece, Rumania, Ukraine, Ireland, Germany...). These more than 200 concerts took place in very diverse contexts : small places not only dedicated to concerts, jazz-clubs, theaters, international jazz festivals... In it are added artistic residences, actions of sensitization, interventions in schools, master-classes.. The imuZZic network support the creation of trans-disciplinary projects, cause the emergence of national and international musical networks, seek the passages and the division of information, explore not the borders but what there is between, work in the relation between the european improvised musics and the other cultures, practise a total musical fact rather than an unspecified form of aesthetic integrism...
