"You could  find  here the brassy hymns of a Charlie Haden Liberation Music Orchestra, the swaying of a dazzling Ornette Coleman (his double quartet on "free jazz"), the heartbreak and the natural melodic of a John Zorn , the temptations of  the noisy music of Henry Cow ("Unrest" for example), or the raging scansions and electric era of a King Crimson (his influence is barely hidden in the hypnotic pounding of  "La Foley" and downright explicit in the final three minutes  of "Free to KC Gawa", two compositions by guitarist Philip Gordiani with his known love for Robert Fripp when he does not celebrate Syd Barrett in the I. Overdrive Trio)"

This orchestra created for  the 10 years of the  imuZZic collective, with the musicians among the most active of this one, is  in the lineage of the  famous engaged workshops  of the history of  jazz,  such as those of  Charles Mingus, Charlie Haden's Liberation Music Orchestra, Carla Bley's  Jazz Composer Orhestra or Art Ensemble of Chicago... The imuZZic collective so pursues the work begun since around ten years on fight and hope songs with the "Trio Resistances" or the sextet "October" or, more recently,  the work on improvised musics with the Bruno Tocanne "new dreams", in trio, quartet (4 new dreams !) or quintet with the Nachoff - Tocanne Project,  as well  as a noticed work on bridges between jazz - improvised musics and pop-rock with the  I.Overdrive trio...

If we could qualify the inventive musical period of the end of the sixties as "Pop, free and political", it is really  in that direction that it is necessary to go to search influence of these musicians: "...  Artists  hired in a confused world, they give us a direct, approachable music without simplism, free without concession... A succession of pieces which speak about anger, brotherhood,  hope, cordiality and uprising.
Of  freedom especially... " (CITIZEN JAZZ 2009) This orchestra, which assumes all the  influences of the musics of these last 40 years with happiness, is a collective group not subjected to the absolute dictatorship of an unique leader :  each one comes here with his ideas, his scores, his sense of playing, to put the music in division, by conjugating (by cultivating)  the singular to the plural...
